What are Termites?

How does tenting, or fumigating, a home work?

This kind of fumigation is called tenting because a home is completely sealed off to allow the gas to poison the termites, as it fills all the nooks and crannies of the home. What is Fungi?



    Fungi are a diverse group of organisms that are distinct from plants, animals, and bacteria. They include mushrooms, yeasts, molds, and other forms. They are known for their ability to grow in damp environments and can be found on a variety of substrates such as food, wood, paper, and plants. They are commonly found in places such as bathrooms, kitchens, and basements where there is high humidity. Molds can grow on surfaces as well as inside materials and can cause discoloration, stains, and a musty odor.
Molds reproduce by releasing spores into the air. These spores can be inhaled and can cause respiratory problems, especially in individuals with allergies or asthma. Some molds can also produce toxic compounds called mycotoxins, which can cause serious health problems if ingested or inhaled in large amounts.

What is Photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis can simply be defined by its terms; photo means light and synthesis means manufacture. Photosynthesis takes place mainly in plant leaves, and little to none occurs in stems.



The parts of a typical leaf include the upper and lower epidermis, the spongy mesophyll, palisade mesophyll, the cuticle, the vascular bundles and the stomatas. The upper and lower epidermal cells do not have chloroplasts, thus photosynthesis does not occur there. They merely serve as a protection of the inner cells of leaves. The stomatas are holes which are found mostly on the lower epidermis and are for air exchange: they let CO2 in and O2 out. The vascular bundles in a leaf are part of the plant's transportation system, moving water and nutrients around the plant as needed. The palisade mesophyll cells have chloroplasts and this is where photosynthesis occurs.



Photosynthesis is the process whereby green plants use carbon dioxide and water with the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll to produce glucose and oxygen.



Carbon dioxide + Water ===>> Glucose + Oxygen



Glucose is the first product of photosynthesis then it is converted into starch, protein, cellulose, and thousands of other chemical compounds where it is subsequently used by organisms. This happens because green plants are able to synthesis their own food from simple materials unlike heterotrophs (animals) they cannot do this so they rely on autotrophs (green plants) for their method of nutrition. Photosynthesis is a vital process needed for the continuation of life on earth. It is also the source of the oxygen essential for the survival of all organisms. Without photosynthesis occurring; all living things on earth would perish.



There are six factors that affect the rate of photosynthesis. These being; light intensity, temperature, carbon dioxide availability, light wavelength, water availability and chlorophyll concentration. The more light intensity, temperature, CO2 & Chlorophyll concentration; the faster the rate of photosynthesis occurs but only up to a certain point. The rate of photosynthesis is also faster in blue or red light and is very low with green light. The lack of water will also decrease photosynthesis.



So in conclusion, Photosynthesis is a very complex but important enzyme controlled process vital for the existence of all living things, because all living things are dependent on green plants maybe not for food but definitely for oxygen. Infertility and The Male Reproductive System

From several reports and studies available, about a third of infertility problems are due to problems with the male reproductive tract, another third due to problems in the female reproductive system, while others are either due to a combined factor or are unexplained.



Unlike the female sex, that has a very complicated reproductive system, the male system is less complicated and most causes of male infertility can be traced to sperm disorders. Several million sperm cells is are released in the male ejaculation (semen) during sexual intercourse. However, out of these millions

deposited into the vagina, only a few hundreds will finally make the journey to the female egg and have a chance of fertilizing it. The number of sperm that make this all-important journey determines to a large extent, a man's chances of getting his partner pregnant. This is because, the more sperm cells that get to the egg, the better the chances of a successful fertilization.



There are several biological reactions that occur at the point of contact between the sperm cell and the egg. The more sperm cells that come close to the egg, the more likelihood that one of them will posses what it takes to cross the 'protective walls' around the egg. There are several factors that determine the success of the male sperm in this respect, these include;  the number of sperm cells released known as 'sperm count', the motility of the sperms, the sperm quality and the shape and size of the sperm cells.



Problemswith any of these factors may cause difficulties with

fertility.  Sperm count, i.e. the number of sperm cells released

in the semen, is a very important factor in male fertility.  A

larger amount of sperm cells is almost always a guarantee that

enough cells would make the journey to the egg and achieve the

needed fertilization. However, what seems to be even more crucial is the vitality and motility of these sperm cells.  A few virile cells reaching the egg would produce a better result than a bunch of abnormal sperm cells. Some men with a low sperm count, but high sperm quality happen to be fertile. The sense here is that, an optimal sperm count with high quality sperm cells is the key to male fertility.
